What advice can you give to a person who is moving to a new house, a new state, and a new school? I'm moving next month, and I'm extremely nervous.

Send a letter to your new class before you move. Then your classmates will know all about you when you arrive!
-Megan, age 12, Maryland

The same thing happened to me. Save up some money, so when you move into your new bedroom, you can personalize it. It will help make you feel more at home.
-Sara, age 12, Ohio

Once you make new friends, make sure that you don't talk too much about your old home or state. It's O.K. to talk about fun things you did, but try not to give your friends the impression you'd rather be at your old home than your new one. No one likes to hear people complain.

Think of your move as a new start. Kids at your new school don't know you, so try to make their first impressions of you good ones. Also, try to get involved in after-school activities. You will be sure to make friends there!
-Sophia, age 11, Pennsylvania

I've moved twice. Don't be nervous about finding friends. When I moved, I was new to everyone, so everyone was interested in me in no time. And even if that doesn't happen, there's always some really nice person in your class that will show you around and hook you up with tons of friends!
-Annie, age 11, Maine

I've moved before, and I can tell you it won't be as bad as you think. Even though you will make new friends, you can still keep in touch with your old friends. Before I moved, my friends and I made a scrapbook with lots of crazy pictures of us. If I ever felt homesick I'd just look back at all the fun times we had. It really helped!
