AMERICAN GIRL’S FELICITY® CHARACTER STARS IN A NEW LIVE-ACTION TELEVISION MOVIE AIRING ON THE WB ON NOVEMBER 29

New ”Elizabeth®” doll, Felicity’s best friend, available in September

Middleton, WI – August 11, 2005 – Roll out the red carpet for Felicity Merriman®! American Girl’s colonial-era heroine makes her small screen debut in Felicity: An American Girl Adventure, a live-action television movie based on the Felicity series airing on The WB Network on Tuesday, November 29. To coincide with the movie, American Girl® has created an assortment of Felicity movie-related products, including a new 18-inch Elizabeth doll, Felicity’s best friend and the newest doll to join the company’s flagship line of historical dolls, books, and accessories. The new Elizabeth doll and book, Very Funny, Elizabeth!, will be available this September.

Introduced in 1991, Felicity, a spunky, spritely girl growing up in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the start of the American Revolution, has brought this pivotal time period in America’s history to life for a generation of American Girl fans. Felicity: An American Girl Adventure provides girls with a whole new way to explore the world of this lively and adventurous character. In the film, Felicity struggles to stay both true to herself and her Patriot family while remaining best friends with Elizabeth Cole, whose family is loyal to the king. As the war with England draws closer, Felicity must find a way to hold both love and loyalty in her heart, and discover her own independent path.

Produced by Revolution Studios, Red Om Films, and American Girl in association with Warner Bros. Television Production Inc., the new movie stars Shailene Woodley (Jack & Bobby) in the leading role of Felicity, and Marcia Gay Harden (Bad New Bears, Mystic River) and Smallville’s John Schneider as Felicity’s mother and father. Newcomer Katie Henney has been cast as Felicity’s best friend, Elizabeth Cole. Samantha: An American Girl Holiday director Nadia Tass returns to helm the new film, and the teleplay was written by award-winning screenwriter Anna Sandor (My Louisiana Sky).
