Apple Harvest Triple Treat. Welcome apple season with this trio of tasty recipes from American Girl magazine!

Early fall brings sweet, crisp air and sweet, crisp fruit! Pick your own or visit your favorite farmer’s market to sample all the juicy, tangy apples September has to offer. Try each of these recipes with different varieties to see which is the "apple of your eye."

Green Apple Smoothie

Go green with a sweet smoothie! Place ⅔ cup milk and ¼ cup fresh spinach in a blender. Blend on high for 1 minute. Add 1 cored, chopped apple and 1 banana, and blend on high for 1 minute more. To that mix, add 1 ⅓ cups vanilla Greek yogurt, 2 teaspoons sugar, and ¼ cup ice cubes. Blend on high until smooth.

Apple Sandwiches

These crunchy sandwiches are made for snacking! Remove the core from an apple and cut the apple in thin, horizontal slices. Top one apple slice with your choice of ingredients: try peanut butter, dried fruit, and granola if you’d like something sweet, or turkey and cheddar cheese if savory is more your style. Top with another slice of apple and enjoy!

Baked Caramel Apple Wraps

Bake a dessert with a caramel apple hidden inside! Preheat the oven to 375°. Unroll 1 (8 oz.) package of refrigerated crescent-roll dough and separate the dough triangles along the perforations. Unwrap 8 soft caramel candies and set aside.

Core and slice 2 apples into 8 sections each. Place 2 apple slices and a caramel candy at the long edge of each dough triangle. Roll up the apples and caramel in the dough, and place the wrapped apples on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.

Bake for 10–15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before eating.
