White Chocolate-Dipped Pretzels

White chocolate–dipped pretzels with colorful sprinkles make great party gifts for guests. They’re also just super yummy to eat! If you prefer milk chocolate or dark chocolate, you can use it instead of the white chocolate.

White Chocolate—Dipped Pretzels

Makes 36 to 40 mini pretzels.

  • YOU WILL NEED:
  • 4 ounces good-quality white chocolate, chopped
  • 36 to 40 mini pretzels
  • Rainbow sprinkles or colored sparkling sugar, for decorating
  1. Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper.
  2. Select a saucepan and a heatproof bowl that fits snugly on top of the pan. Put the chocolate in the bowl. Fill the pan about one-third full of water, making sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl when the bowl is set on top of the pan. Place the saucepan over medium-low heat. When the water is steaming, place the bowl on top of the saucepan. Heat the chocolate, stirring occasionally with a rubber spatula, until melted and smooth. Don’t let the chocolate get too hot, and use pot holders or oven mitts if you need to touch the bowl. Remove the bowl from the saucepan and let the chocolate cool slightly.
  3. Using your fingers, hold a pretzel in the center and carefully dip it into the melted chocolate, completely covering one side. Place the pretzel chocolate-side-up on the prepared cookie sheet and immediately sprinkle it with sprinkles (the chocolate needs to be wet when you decorate so that the sprinkles will stick). Repeat with the remaining pretzels. If the chocolate in the bowl starts to harden, place it over the hot water in the saucepan and stir until it’s once again melted and smooth.
  4. Refrigerate the pretzels until the chocolate sets, about 15 minutes. Serve.
