Mob Cap

Supplies:

Compass, ruler, large sheet of paper, pencil, scissors, straight pins, a 20-inch-square piece of white fabric, white thread, needle, 1-inch-wide ribbon (18 inches long)

Directions:

Use the compass to draw a 19-inch circle on the paper. Cut out the circle, pin it to the piece of fabric, and cut out the fabric circle.

Cut a piece of white thread about as long as your arm. Thread the needle and knot the end of the thread.

Sew a running stitch around the fabric circle, about 2 inches from the edge. To sew the stitch, come up at A and go down at B.

Come up at C and go down at D. Keep stitching. When you finish, cut the thread, leaving 2 inches of loose thread at the end.

Thread the needle with another piece of thread. Sew a second running stitch around the circle, 1/4 inch in from your first running stitch. Don’t cut this thread yet!

Gently pull the two loose ends of both threads until the cap is gathered enough to fit your head. Tie loosely. Tie off the threads. Tie the ribbon into a bow and sew it to the front of the cap.
