Kanani's Story

When Kanani flies to New York to visit her cousin Rachel, she feels like a fish—or maybe a monk seal—out of water. Not only is she homesick for Hawaii, but she knows she must be embarrassing her cousin by being such a hick. So Kanani decides to try and act like a New Yorker. Then she makes a surprising discovery about Rachel—and learns that the aloha spirit works in New York, too.
