Past You Said It!
Eleven-year-old Grace asked this question: "If you could paint any scene on one wall of your bedroom, what scene would you paint and why?"
These girls shared their thoughts:
I would paint a scene of dancers practicing. When I see professional dancers, I always push myself to work harder to become a better dancer. It's a great motivator.
–Allison, age 12, Kansas
I'd love to have a huge painting of the night sky in my room. That way I'd be able to sleep under the stars without having to go camping.
–Sophia, age 10, Colorado
I would paint a beach scene on my wall. My family and I have gone to the beach practically every summer since I was a baby. Looking at the wall would make me happy and remind me of all of the good times I've had.
–Kaitlyn, age 13, Illinois
If I could paint any scene on a wall of my bedroom, it would be a softball field. A softball field would remind me of my funny teammates, my hard work, and most important, my favorite thing to do.
–Emily, age 11, California
I would paint a cool scene filled with rocks, minerals, and gems because I want to be a geologist when I grow up.
–Grace, age 8, Wisconsin
I'd paint a stage, complete with red curtains and black steps. It would look like a real one, and then I could act and practice in front of it all the time. I think it would be pretty amazing.
–Kenslie, age 12, Ohio
I would paint a picture from a medieval fairy tale. I love stories about dragons, knights, strong heroines, and fantasy creatures. A medieval mural in my room would really get my imagination going.
–Madeleine, age 13, Oklahoma
If I could paint a scene on walls in my room, I would paint Pennsylvania's countryside. We recently moved to a big city, and I miss my beloved countryside. Seeing it every day would make me feel right at home.
–Virginia, age 12, Florida
I would paint a scene of my best friends and me walking around a beautiful park. I love going to parks and having fun with my friends.
–Corinne, age 9, New York
I would paint every page from my favorite book on a wall in my room. I love to read that book, so whenever I'm bored, all I'd have to do is look at my wall and read.
–Amy, age 11, California
On my bedroom wall, I'd paint a scene of me riding my horse over grassy hills and meadows. When I go to bed, I'd get to relive what I love to do every day.
–Ryry, age 12, California
I would paint a big boat on my wall. I love being on boats, and someday I want to join the Coast Guard.
–Grace, age 10, Delaware
I'd paint the Eiffel Tower on my wall. I've always wanted to go to Paris, so putting this scene on my wall would remind me of my dream every time I look at it.
–Bailey, age 12, Michigan
I wouldn't paint a scene—I'd much rather have a giant window. Nature is my favorite scene.
–Megan, age 13, Florida
