Ten-year-old Ella asked this question: "Where is your favorite place to read and why?"

These girls shared their thoughts:

One of my favorite places to read is next to the fence that surrounds my family's pasture. Whenever I sit out there, my horse will lean over to see me. Once she even tried to take a bite out of my book!

I love to read in a corner between my bed and bookshelf. I even put a sign on the wall that says "My Reading Corner." It's quiet, peaceful, and perfect for reading.

I like to make a fort out of blankets and grab a book to read in there. Sometimes my dog comes in and lies down next to me.

The only quiet place in my house is my closet. It's a walk-in closet where I keep my dolls and costumes, and I have a bunch of blankets in there, too. It's a super-cozy spot, and I've been known to read in there for hours.

In my backyard, there's a big pine tree and a pretty stream. I love to go there with my favorite book and watch all my problems float away with the water.

My favorite place to read is the top bunk of my bunk bed. My mom and I decorated it with fluffy, soft pillows. I put up cat posters and a cat calendar, too. This spot makes me feel warm and cozy.

My favorite place to read is a nook in my school's library that I've been going to since I was in kindergarten. It's a relaxing place filled with lots of comfy chairs, and it brings back good memories from when I was little.

I like to sit next to the bay window in my room with a book. My great-grandfather built the house and put in the window seat so that my great-grandma would have a special place to read. It's a special place to me, too.

When I want to read a book, I head to my dad's photography studio in our basement. The steady whirring of computers and printers is perfect background noise, and his photos help me imagine the places I read about.

I like to read outside, especially on a beautiful spring day. I lie down on a beach towel in a shady spot under a tree. I listen to the birds chirp and watch the butterflies flutter by, too.

I can read anywhere—outdoors, in the car, or at home. The wonderful thing about books is that they can transport me to wherever I want to go, so it doesn't matter where I read. I can travel to any place through my imagination!
