Past You Said It!
That's So You!
Eleven-year-old Christina asked this question: "What is one thing in your bedroom that represents your personality and why?"
These girls shared their thoughts:
My room color represents my personality. My walls are bright orange, and the color always makes my friends smile. The orange walls are a lot like me—I'm full of energy, and I'm great at making people grin.
–An American Girl fan, age 11, North Carolina
My cluttered bookshelf shows my personality. All my books are squished and crammed on it—but it shows how much I read!
–Ruby, age 9, California
One thing in my room that displays my personality is a butterfly hanging on the wall. It represents me because my mom says that I am as graceful as a butterfly.
–MaryClare, age 10, Indiana
I have a poster of quotes from famous authors on my wall. Whenever I'm writing and get stuck, I look at the quotes and get inspired.
–Jessica, age 13, Hawaii
My purple stuffed bunny represents my personality. One of my favorite colors is purple, and I have a soft heart.
–Alice, age 9, Washington
There's a poster of a seashell on my wall that perfectly represents my love for the ocean.
–Sandra, age 10, Massachusetts
I have a gymnastics trophy in my room. It reminds me that I want to compete professionally one day and to keep chasing my dream.
–Olivia, age 9, Tennessee
I have a ceiling full of glow-in-the-dark stars. They represent me because I love camping and looking up at the stars.
–Kaylie, age 10, New Mexico
I play the guitar and the ukulele, and I hang both of them on my wall. Music is a huge part of my life, so whenever I'm stressed and need to relax, I play one of my instruments and sing.
–Brooke, age 12, Kentucky
My bedspread represents my personality. Why? Well, one side has polka dots and the other one has stripes. It shows that I love trying new things and mixing things up.
–Olivia, age 11, California
I have a lava lamp that bubbles when you turn it on, just like me. I feel comfortable around people once I get to know them. Once I'm "switched" on, my bubbly personality comes out.
–Annika, age 13, West Virginia
I have a map of the world in my room. It represents me because I love learning about other countries and cultures.
–Alyssa, age 9, Texas
I enjoy making movies, so I've dedicated a corner of my room to movies. It has an old-fashioned camera, film canisters, and movie posters. It shows people that I want to be a director when I grow up.
–Trinity, age 12, Minnesota
I love ballet, and each year my ballet school has a recital. When I was two, my mom bought me a bulletin board that says my name at the top. Every year, my mom adds a picture of me from my recital. It's fun to look at pictures of myself from past years and see how much I've grown and improved. My bulletin board definitely represents my personality.
