So Excited!

Eleven-year-old Claudia asked this question: "What is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you?"

These girls shared their thoughts:

My best friend moved to India, and I missed her so much. Then one day, my parents told me that we were going on a trip to India and I would get to see my friend again! The moment I saw her was one of the most exciting moments of my life.

My woo-hoo moment was when I found out that I was elected to be the fifth-grade student council representative. When the principal said my name, I had a huge grin on my face. As soon as I got home from school, I started jumping up and down and screaming!

Last year, my older sister was in a car accident and was in the hospital for more than three weeks. When she came home, we had a huge party for her. I was so happy that she was OK.

I was very excited when I got my first pair of toe shoes. I had worked hard in my ballet class for years, and I finally got to wear those beautiful pink slippers. But boy, did they hurt!

A few other kids and I read through my school's entire reading list, and I was so pumped when I found out what the prize would be—a ride in a limo and a pizza party! It was so much fun, and I'm trying to do it again this year.

I took surfing lessons with my mom in Hawaii. I couldn't catch a wave and felt discouraged because my mom caught every one. When the lesson was almost over, the instructors told me that I could try to ride one more, and I caught it! I started screaming with excitement. That was a moment to remember.

When I found out that I was going to sing at a baseball game, I was so excited! I was really nervous, but after it was over, I couldn't believe what had just happened.

I've always loved playing the guitar, so I entered a talent contest last year. That was a big step outside of my comfort zone, because I'm usually very quiet. I won second place!

I was seven when I got my puppy, but I remember it as if it were yesterday. I had just come home from school, and my mom told me she had a surprise for me. She presented me with the most adorable puppy I'd ever seen! I love my dog very much.

A few months ago, I was playing in a volleyball game against a good team. The score was tied, and it was the game point. I'm usually not great at spiking, but when one girl set the ball, I thought, Well, I can at least try! I made a beautiful spike over the net and won the game for my team! Everyone was screaming, jumping up and down, and hugging me. It felt amazing.
