Find Out What Plug-ins You Have

It's easy to check what plug-ins you already have on your computer.

First, figure out what kind of computer you're using. It should be either a PC or Macintosh. Then find out which Web browser you use–Internet Explorer or Netscape. If you use the America Online browser, see the AOL Information page.

Note: To see if you have JavaScript turned on, see the Test the Plug-ins page.

Internet Explorer

  1. Select "About Internet Explorer."
    • On a Macintosh it's under the Apple menu.
    • On a PC, it's under the Help menu.
  2. When the new window pops up, click on the "Support" button.
  3. Scroll down the page until you find a list of all the plug-ins you have.
  4. Look for ShockWave, Flash, QuickTime, and Acrobat Reader.
  5. Make a note of which plug-ins you need to download.
