Daisy Davenport is a confident 10-year-old girl living in Madison, Wisconsin. She is a standout soccer player, a dedicated guitarist, and an outdoor enthusiast. She’s independent and takes pride in working hard to be good at the things she loves. Being naturally talented sometimes makes Daisy quick to lead, but not always quick to listen. She’s starting to realize she might not always be the best team player.

As Daisy heads to sleepaway camp for the first time, she’s excited that her best friend, Callie, is going too. But when one thing after another goes wrong, Daisy finds herself facing new worries like homesickness, teamwork struggles, and a growing fear of the dark. This usually confident kid is now starting to wonder if she can face the challenges of summer camp.

Meet Daisy Davenport

In Meet Daisy Davenport, Daisy is heading into summer feeling unstoppable. She’s a star soccer player, plays guitar to an enthusiastic audience, and she’s about to head to the same summer camp her mom attended: Camp Gowonagin. Daisy expects an amazing three weeks, especially because her best friend Callie is going with her. But when Callie gets injured and can’t attend the same session, Daisy suddenly must face her first sleepaway camp on her own. At camp, Daisy joins Badger Cabin and meets her cabinmates, Amira, Nina, Mai, and Violet. She also meets her counselor, Izzy, who has started a new badge program. Daisy loves the idea of earning badges together with her roommates. But Daisy struggles more than she expected. She feels lonely and unsettled by things she’s never feared before, like the dark. Daisy makes up her mind to go home after the first night! But the next day, after playing soccer and singing by the warmth of the campfire, she starts to reconsider. After all, she is who she is (like her family says): a girl who keeps trying. As the days unfold, Daisy begins earning badges, making new memories, and slowly finding her place at Camp Gowonagin. By the end of her first week, she isn’t ready to go home anymore—she’s ready for more!

In Daisy Davenport Saves the Day, Daisy is getting into the swing of life at Camp Gowonagin. She’s excited to take on new activities, spend time with her Badger Cabin friends, and keep challenging herself. But Daisy also has something important to work on. Back home, her soccer coach encouraged her to listen more and think about what the whole team needs, not just what she can do on her own. At camp, Daisy soon discovers that being a good teammate matters everywhere—not just on the soccer field. She also finds inspiration in a display about campers from years past, including Molly McIntire, whose legendary capture-the-flag victory gets Daisy dreaming about making her own mark at camp. But when a few mishaps create tension in Badger Cabin, Daisy realizes that good intentions don’t always lead to good results. With an overnight camping trip ahead, she’ll have another chance to put what she’s learning into practice. As Daisy takes on new challenges, she begins to understand that courage isn’t always about being fearless, and leadership isn’t about doing everything yourself. Sometimes, the best way to save the day is to listen, work together, and help your whole team shine!
