A fun twist on a summertime classic, these DIY frozen pops will be well worth the wait. Each pop uses one 3-oz. or 7-oz. disposable cup, a food safe stick, and a bit of foil. Freeze overnight.
Make this treat with any soft drink—citrus, grape, or even root beer!
Pour about ½ cup soda into a small pitcher, and place it in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Scoop vanilla ice cream into a 3-ounce plastic cup, filling the cup about 1⁄3 full. Press ice cream firmly into the bottom of the cup. Insert a food-safe stick into the ice cream. When the soda is cold and the bubbles have mostly disappeared, slowly pour soda into the cup. Scoop off foam with a spoon. Fill carefully until the cup is almost full. Cover the cup with foil, poking the end of the stick through the foil. Freeze overnight, and then remove the cup.
Fruit, yogurt, and granola make this a healthy frozen treat!
Fill a 3-ounce paper cup almost halfway with fruit-flavored yogurt. Place a layer of fruit on top of the yogurt. Sprinkle a thin layer of granola on top of the fruit. Finish filling the cup with yogurt. Insert a food-safe stick. Cover the top of the cup with foil, poking the end of the stick through the foil. Freeze overnight; peel away the cup and remove the foil before serving. Experiment with different flavor combinations to create something all your own.
Orange juice and vanilla ice cream make a treat that is sunshine on a stick!
Scoop vanilla ice cream into a 7-oz. disposable cup, filling the cup about 1/3 full. Press ice cream firmly into the bottom. Insert a food-safe stick into the ice cream. Slowly pour orange juice into the cup until it is almost full. Cover the top of the cup with foil, poking the end of the stick through the foil. Freeze overnight, then remove the foil and cup. Enjoy!
